Artwork
Open-studio
During the open-studio at Central Saint Martins, because I couldn’t hang the panel from the wall, I used two wooden plinths, at this point of the project I also had to figure out how to incorporate the CD player into the installation, therefore I placed the CD player at the center, turning it into a jukebox repurposing the sub-woofer box by placing speakers inside it, allowing the audio to be amplified.
I left a selection of CDs for the audience to interact with and change as they pleased.
Deconstructed Items
CD Player
Denon DCD-720AE
The object was the first one to be deconstructed, it was repurposed and transformed into a functional jukebox.
Amplifier
Sony STR-DB780
This Sony amplifier is a historical piece of hardware. Along with all the other amplifiers I found, I chose this specifically for its grey colour, as it provided a good contrast in the artwork and had a shiny chrome effect.
600W Active Subwoofer StudioSpares 248970 600
One of the key objects in the project was this sub-woofer. It was originally located in a university bar and was ready for landfill as it was broken.
Side Speakers
Edis M0D3L
Tearing those little speakers apart was quite a challenge, but this tutorial did help.
Stereo Speakers Logitech S-02648O
The last item I acquired for the project were those speakers, those were hid under the jukebox CD player.
